Tashi Delek!  Thank you for your interest in Blue Beryl Dharma Center, a Rime Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center. Blue Beryl Dharma Center, Inc. was founded in 2003 as a charitable, educational, and religious organization by Lama Lobsang Palden and a Board of Directors. Blue Beryl opened in St. Louis, and was Missouri's first and only Tibetan Buddhist Center directed by a resident Lama from Tibet.
         BBDC was formed to provide a space for Tibetan Buddhist practice and to help preserve Tibetan culture. Blue Beryl opened in Illinois in 2004 as Chicago's first and only Dharma Center with a specific emphasis on Medicine Buddha and Tibetan Healing practices.
         The center was called Blue Beryl Dharma Center because of its emphasis on Medicine Buddha and Tibetan healing. The name "Blue Beryl" refers to the earliest known illustrated treatise on Tibetan medicine, "The Blue Beryl Treatise," created during the 17th century by Sangye Gyamtso. The original paintings from The Blue Beryl Treatise hung on the walls of Tibet's first medical college, Chagpoori Medical Institute.

Blue Beryl Dharma Center has two main purposes:

To preserve and perpetuate Tibetan Buddhist teachings and practices, and to promote Tibetan culture, by providing a Center for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism.

To promote holistic health by offering traditional Tibetan healing practices such as Tibetan Yoga, Tibetan Healing Massage and Medicine Buddha Meditation.
